Here are a few images from a recent Headshot Portrait Session in Warwickshire with the lovely Jacky. She originally contacted me to discuss updating a portfolio of images that could be used for media articles & interviews, online profiles & marketing materials. I visited Jacky at her home & set up a simple studio.
There are many benefits to this style of photography, the main one being that the client is much more relaxed in familiar surroundings & less intimated by a photographic studio & all of it’s fancy equipment. The second one being that a client doesn’t have to carry a range of outfits to a shoot, so if we need an accessory or a change of item everything is there ready. Images with different clothing choices can give the impression that they were captured on different days & also provide variety to the client. A shoot like this can feel much more relaxed & less hurried, which in turn adds to a fantastic customer experience.
At the consultation stage, together with discussing where the images will be used I always talk through clothing choices with the client. The benefit of this is that wardrobe pieces are ironed & ready on the day of the shoot. During the actual portrait session I always take time to relax the client & build rapport which in turn produces the best result – great connection, good natural expression & a modern, beautifully lit image. Images presented to the client are always fully retouched & presented in both high resolution for print & also at a lower resolution for web & email. Images are provided in both colour & black & white & are uploaded to an online password-protected gallery where they can be viewed & downloaded directly by the client.
