Michael Howarth is an award-winning singer from Bolton & is hugely popular within the North West club circuit. He asked if I would travel up to Manchester to capture some up to date portraits for his new promotional material & quite frankly, I couldn’t wait! Michael wanted to get away from stuffy studio shots & take to the streets of Manchester, which has some fabulous backdrops & locations. We chatted for a while about the type of images Michael wanted & we created a mood board of influences.
It’s always important for me to be on the same creative wavelength as my clients. I very much view my shoots as collaborations & love the creative energy this produces. I headed to Manchester in the rain, having lots of “oh no” moments as I stared out of the window. Once we had met for coffee & talked locations the rain stopped & we were good to go. With help from my favourite silver reflector & a little off camera flash we hit the streets. I loved the shoot so much & Michael was the ultimate professional.
