I love Urban Portrait Shoots – getting out in the environment & capturing something striking & modern. I see them as real collaborations with my subjects as we can talk about what mood or ‘feel’ we want to convey & this is what happened when I met Ian. A very strong, masculine guy who wanted a set of images that showed his personality. We headed to a coffee shop & discussed inspirations & ideas Ian had. He mentioned the Bond film ‘Skyfall’ & how stylised it was, especially the shots of Daniel Craig in the London environment. Strong graphic shapes & lines & moody lighting. So off into the cold Birmingham skyline we headed, complete with lights, stands & creativity flowing. Here are some of my favourite images from the session..
