One of my recent commissions was to provide Editorial Photography for Royal Voluntary Service. The RVS magazine article proudly talked about the awesome work it’s volunteers provide & as a Midlands based Editorial Portrait Photographer, I headed over to Leicester in the East Midlands. My brief from the magazine publishers was to capture a wide selection of images, both in portrait & landscape formats. This would then give their designers plenty of scope when putting together layouts containing text & photographs. Portraits had to be bright & clean, with warm natural expressions. Building great rapport with my subjects is key for me & I pride myself on being very personable. I am able to capture great photography with the minimum of fuss & disruption.
The Royal Voluntary Service is a fantastic National Charity that provides a variety of services in hospitals & communities. Originally founded in 1938 as the Women’s Voluntary Services for Air Raid Precautions, Royal Voluntary Service is the largest volunteering organisation in British history. It was a real pleasure to meet such dedicated & caring volunteers.
