When Brian’s son saw that I was doing a portrait session promotion for Father’s Day, he booked me to visit his dad at home & capture some great images. Little did I know that I was about to meet an absolutely awesome guy & his equally awesome wife, both of which have quite a remarkable story.
You see, both Brian & his wife Lynn are deaf. Unfortunately Brian’s mum caught German Measles whilst pregnant & Brian was born deaf. Lynn became deaf at around the age of 5 years old. Fate was to bring them both together in 1982 when they both met & fell in love at a deaf centre & in a few weeks time they will have been together 30 years (married for 27 of those). What struck me the most about spending time with them was the total love & support they have for each other. They literally adore each other. To watch them signing to each other, giggling like little children & hugging each other was just heart warming. Brian showed me around their beautiful home & the way he has transformed it himself is just out of this world. From fitting kitchens, to redecorating bathrooms, building fireplaces – you name it, he has done it. He is particularly fond of his beautiful garden which thankfully, the rain stopped for half an hour so we could go out side to grab some portraits. I’m sure you will agree that they are both just adorable.
