As a top Birmingham Editorial Portrait Photographer I get to create Professional & Modern Portraits for Magazines & Newspapers. These can either be on location, or outside which creates a more story-telling, environmental style portrait. Or alternatively, like these images of Gary I can create something dramatic in a studio setting. For this set I used a variety of different coloured backdrops sourced from Creativity Backgrounds.
I had previously met with Gary in Birmingham for a coffee to discuss the shoot. As a Portrait Photographer, using something like Pinterest helps me to create a scrapbook or mood board of various styles & inspirations. We poured over the various photographs I had gathered, both brimming with excitement & creativity. This really is the beginning of the process for me as it helps both myself & my subject know exactly the mood or style we are aiming for. I had purchased the red backdrop some months ago, but waited to bring it out on the right shoot. With gary’s hair colour & the clothing choices I knew it would be perfect.
With some gentle posing direction & dramatic lighting I was able to create striking Portraits. I always like to create both Landscape & Portrait crops to ensure both Magazine Covers & also Inside Article Layouts are catered for. Head over to my Editorial Portrait Gallery to view more of my work.
