Aladdin stars Julian Clary & Matt Slack visit the Hippodrome Theatre Birmingham ahead of the 2015 pantomime

Friday 25 September marked 3 months exactly until Christmas Day & what better way to get into the Festive Spirit early than a visit to Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre for a Pantomime press call. Birmingham Hippodrome pantomimes are known for their spectacle and the theatre aims to continue that tradition with this year’s pantomime Aladdin promising lots of laughs for all the family, brand new costumes, breathtaking 3D and special effects, plus lots of audience participation! Stars Julian Clary & Matt Slack were great sports & posed for us photographers on a bright sunny day in Birmingham.

Julian Clary (Spirit of the Ring) has established himself as one of the country’s most recognisable and popular stage and television entertainers. He has turned his hand to comedy, acting, presenting, writing and in 2012 won Celebrity Big Brother. As well as his autobiography, Julian has become an accomplished novelist with a number of best-sellers to his credit. He is a hugely  popular panto performer and has headlined some of the biggest pantomimes around the UK, including Dick Whittington at Birmingham Hippodrome opposite Joan Collins in 2010.  Julian plays the Spirit of the Ring.

Birmingham favourite Matt Slack (Wishee Washee) returns for his third consecutive pantomime at Birmingham Hippodrome where he always delights audiences with his jokes and physical comedy. Recognised as one of the country’s leading pantomime comics Aladdin marks Matt’s 16th year with producers Qdos Entertainment. Birmingham Hippodrome is the home of the UK’s traditional pantomime entertaining audiences since Robinson Crusoe way back in 1958!! I know, how crazy is that! Aladdin which will run from 19 December – 31 January, also stars Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow, who will be making his pantomime debut, and Casualty star and singer Lee Mead.
