Adam Ant. Two words that always evoke the same response from people – “wow I LOVE Adam & the Ants, I had his posters up in my bedroom!!” As a huge fan myself I too had posters of Adam, t-shirts, every vinyl album & single released & I sat as a teenager watching his mesmerising performances on Top of the Pops. A true musical icon & now performing the legendary ‘Dirk Wears White Sox’ album for 2015.
I photographed Adam & his band at The Copper Rooms – a superb venue with a great layout & atmosphere. It was perfect for Adam to get up close & personal with fans & proved that those mesmerising performances hadn’t gone away. Commanding the stage, connecting with the audience & looking every inch the icon he is it really was a fantastic performance. As a photographer it is always important for me to capture both atmosphere & emotion, to take the viewer on a journey. Here are some of my favourite images:
