I was recently commissioned by Maxstoke Park Golf Club Coleshill to photograph the 2018 Captains on location at the Club near Birmingham. The images were to be used across various formats & advertising, but the centre piece was to be bespoke framed images that hang in the entrance hallway of the Golf Club. As a Portrait photographer I always like to begin a project by meeting Clients over a cuppa. This helps to ascertain their exact needs & also determine the best location to set up my portable studio.
I met with new Lady Captain Elaine & we chatted about the mood or ‘feel’ of the Portraits to be taken. Previous Captains had been photographed against a white background & we agreed that something more artistic & less ‘Corporate’ looking would be the best choice. We looked at a background paper swatch & decided on a gorgeous chestnut/earthy colour background. Perfect for lifting the dark blazers they would be wearing & complimenting the artistic lighting I would be creating.
As you can see from the set up above, space was at a premium as we had to set up in the Club office. As an experienced Location Portrait Photographer based in Birmingham, I am used to ensuring the best images can be created in even the smallest of Offices or Businesses. Photographing Headshots on Location also means Clients are much more relaxed in their own work environment, which in turn leads to natural expressions & great connection in the images. You can see from the images below that you would never guess they were taken in a small office & the hand-delivered bespoke frames look beautiful hanging in the Club.
